Peace Development

Sustainable peace extends beyond immediate post-conflict recovery and requires addressing the structural drivers of violence and social fragmentation. Protracted conflicts often stem from deep-rooted inequalities, weak governance, exclusion, and lack of opportunity. A durable peacebuilding process must therefore integrate inclusive development, institutional strengthening, and long-term societal transformation.

We support governments, institutions, and civil society organisations in designing and implementing comprehensive peace development strategies that address the structural causes of conflict and foster long-term stability. Our approach combines non-violent conflict resolution mechanisms, such as dialogue facilitation and negotiated settlements, with targeted interventions to promote social inclusion, cohesion, and justice.

We strengthen the institutional capacities of governance actors to manage conflict constructively, enhance democratic legitimacy, and foster accountable governance. Our services include the development of conflict-sensitive strategies, methodical concepts, and operational action plans; the facilitation of participatory processes and multi-actor dialogue; and the articulation of local and national stakeholder networks. We deliver tailored human capacity development and training measures, design technical instruments and tools, and deploy national and international experts to support implementation on the ground.

In addition, we contribute to economic stabilisation by supporting equitable development and livelihoods, we manage grants and local subsidies, and oversee all phases of project implementation, including design, monitoring, and evaluation. Through this integrated and context-sensitive approach, we promote local ownership, strengthen institutions, and support the development of resilient, peaceful, and inclusive societies.
