Peaceful Coexistence in Refugee Hosting Communities in Lebanon (PCL)
As part of the “Tackling the Root Causes of Forced Displacement, Stabilising Host Regions, and Supporting Refugees” special initiative by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the PCL project aims to promote peaceful coexistence between Syrian refugees and host communities in four municipalities in North Lebanon and Akkar. Using a participatory approach, the project identifies local needs related to peaceful coexistence and improved living conditions, then implements tailored solutions, including training municipal and private sector staff in participatory planning and implementation as well as providing conflict resolution skills to strengthen community relations. This approach ensures that both refugees and host communities benefit from sustainable, locally driven solutions.
