Land Management

In many developing and emerging countries, weak land tenure systems, inadequate governance, and outdated cadastral frameworks hinder sustainable growth, investment, and social stability. Farmers and communities often lack secure land rights, which discourages long-term investments and sustainable land use for fear of land disputes or expropriation and the increasing risk of land conflicts. The reliance on customary land rights, limited local land-use planning, and insufficient administrative capacities further intensify governance challenges. Strengthening land management frameworks is key to ensuring equitable access, reducing disputes, and fostering social cohesion and economic stability.

We enhance land governance by supporting participatory land-use planning, strengthening communal land management, and advancing regional territorial planning. Our work includes modernising cadastral systems through digital solutions and remote sensing technologies to improve transparency and efficiency. We promote inclusive land policies that secure tenure for disadvantaged groups, particularly women, and strengthen legal frameworks through sensitization and capacity development, promoting justice, income generation and empowerment. By introducing land conflict resolution tools and complaint management mechanisms, we improve dispute resolution processes. Additionally, we provide legal and paralegal mobile advisory services in rural areas, ensuring access to justice for vulnerable populations.

By fostering transparent and inclusive land governance, we contribute to social cohesion, responsible investment, and economic stability. Secure land tenure strengthens public finances through property taxation, enhances local revenue generation, and reduces corruption risks. Our approach supports equitable access to land, promotes sustainable resource management, and safeguards the livelihoods of future generations.
