Biodiversity Conservation and Protected Area Management
The accelerating loss of biodiversity threatens ecosystems and human well-being. Protected areas are critical for conserving species and habitats, but they face increasing pressures from land use conflicts, poaching, and climate change. International efforts, such as the Paris Agreement, the Aichi Biodiversity Targets, and the 30x30 goal, seek to protect 30% of the Earth's surface by 2030, balancing conservation with sustainable development.
We specialise in strengthening terrestrial and marine biodiversity by supporting the management of national parks, nature reserves, and ecological corridors. Our expertise includes developing conservation strategies, designing protected area infrastructure, and training rangers, eco-guards, and local communities in co-management practices. We apply environmental and social safeguards, mitigate human-wildlife conflicts, and promote alternative livelihoods to reduce pressures on protected areas.
By integrating conservation with socio-economic development, we foster sustainable resource management. Our efforts contribute to ecological resilience, secure ecosystem services, and enhance community well-being while safeguarding critical biodiversity for future generations.

Ukraine
Support to Nature Protected Areas in the Carpathians
Our implemented activities significantly improved the management effectiveness in eight protected areas in the Carpathians, including better equipment for rangers and an improved park infrastructure.
