Feasibility Study for Water Security
Both urban centres are located along the Zambia corridor, with Tunduma rapidly expanding into a border town merging with its Zambian counterpart. Their strategic location makes them key to regional economic development.
However, infrastructure and municipal services in both towns have suffered from lack of investment, failing to meet rising demand and causing negative consequences.
This Feasibility Study aims to identify infrastructure solutions to improve water security for the growing population. An integrated and holistic approach will be applied, addressing water, wastewater, solid waste, and urban planning to ensure long-term water security. Within the Programme framework, individual infrastructure projects will be developed for each town.
The project “Feasibility Study for Water Security for Tunduma and Vwawa-Mlowo Towns, Tanzania” is funded by German Financial Cooperation with Tanzania under the Climate Adapted Infrastructure and Integrated Water Resources Management Program.
The consultant team includes multidisciplinary experts from Dorsch Impact, alongside Tanzanian sub-consultants Netwas and BORDA. The International Cooperation Cluster of Dorsch Gruppe is proud to launch another joint project, strengthening collaboration across its entities.
