Urban Development through Resilient Resource Management

The project “Promoting Sustainable Urban Development through Resilient Resource Management with a Participatory Approach in District Mansehra” (RRM-Mansehra) supports the Urban Policy Unit (UPU) and implementing partners in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province by developing and implementing projects using multi-sectoral and multidimensional approaches. It integrates water supply, wastewater, and solid waste management through pilot infrastructure schemes, promoting good governance with tools for participatory, evidence-based planning and implementation. The project aims to develop, implement, and promote replicable pilot models combining related infrastructure measures. Key outputs include improving the capacity and competence of public service departments at all levels, implementing integrated technical solutions for water, wastewater, and waste management, and raising public awareness to encourage sustainable behaviours and protect natural resources. Also, identification and documentation of best practice technical solutions, participatory approaches, capacity development and awareness raising for replication in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province is key.
