Technical Support for the FAPBM on behalf of FAMINDRA
Madagascar’s exceptional biodiversity is under increasing pressure from climate change, land degradation and unsustainable resource use, while protected area management faces persistent financing and institutional capacity constraints. In this context, the Fondation pour les Aires Protégées et la Biodiversité de Madagascar (FAPBM) plays a pivotal role as the country’s leading conservation trust fund, helping to secure long-term financing for biodiversity protection. The FAMINDRA project provides a sustainable response to these challenges by strengthening FAPBM’s institutional, financial and operational systems so that it can manage growing donor resources transparently and effectively, while better supporting Madagascar’s protected areas system (SAPM).
The assignment reinforces financial governance, fiduciary reliability, programme management and environmental and social safeguards, while also supporting FAPBM’s strategic positioning as a key actor in conservation financing in Madagascar. Dorsch Impact provides the full technical assistance team and headquarters backstopping, combining international and specialist expertise in finance, procurement, data management, MEAL, and environmental and social standards.
