Access to Justice for Women
The Access to justice for women: Strengthening evidence-based case management in Bangladesh project, co-funded by the EU and implemented by GIZ in Bangladesh, aims to promote gender equality by improving women's access to justice and addressing systemic barriers such as patriarchal norms and gender-blind policies. The general objective is to develop and expand evidence-based case management in courts, particularly regarding data use within the courts and within legal aid partnerships. Aligned with Bangladesh’s 8th Five-Year Plan and Germany’s Feminist Development Policy, the project focuses on implementing gender-sensitive dispute resolution mechanisms, developing policies for faster, more affordable justice, and expanding evidence-based case management to reduce delays in district courts.
Dorsch Impact is responsible for enhancing data-driven case management and strengthening legal aid partnerships in seven districts (Rangpur, Kumilla, Narsigndi, Dhaka, Barishal, Khulna, and Moulvibazar), ensuring more timely, equitable, and gender-responsive justice for women and vulnerable groups.
