Rehabilitation of Sewers Networks in Cities Located in Lake Bizerte Region

As part of the Horizon 2020 Initiative, which aims to reduce Mediterranean pollution by tackling key sources (municipal waste, urban wastewater, industrial pollution), this project focuses on restoring Lake Bizerte’s water quality and ecosystems to promote sustainable socio-economic development.

The project specifically aims to:

  • Improve quality of life by reducing pollution from liquid discharges, solid waste, and industrial emissions. 

  • Support the region’s socio-economic potential.

  • Enhance participation of local actors and stakeholders.

  • Strengthen the institutional framework for sustainable development.

  • Ultimately, the project aims to improve sewer systems and ensure universal, equitable sanitation for communities in the Lake Bizerte watershed and coastal areas from Cap Blanc to Ghar El Meleh.
